What you will do:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate team member to support the daily operations of our healthcare unit. This role involves handling a variety of clerical tasks, maintaining accurate patient records, and serving as a key point of contact for patient and staff communication. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients and families, coordinating appointments and procedures, managing supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical or clerical setting, be bilingual in Spanish (preferred), and possess current CPR certification. A strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals are essential.

Unit Support Assistant Summary of Job Responsibilities:
  • Handle clerical tasks, maintain patient records, and assist with document preparation.
  • Serve as a contact point for inquiries, answer phones, relay messages, and facilitate communication within the unit.
  • Greet and assist patients and families, support admission and discharge processes.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, tests, and procedures, collaborating with departments as needed.
  • Monitor and replenish unit supplies, assist with inventory management.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to support daily operations.
  • Follow safety protocols, maintain compliance with regulations, and ensure accurate documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Associate or High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Medical Assisting or CNA experience preferred.
  • Must have at least 1 year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Proof of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) if applicable.
  • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers.
  • Must have Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months.
  • Current Annual Health Clearance.
