Position Summary 

The Senior Software Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and modernizing Ellement's enterprise software platforms that support pension and benefits administration. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for delivering complete end-to-end solutions across the full application stack, including front-end applications, back-end services, APIs, databases, and system integrations. 

Working within a modern microservices architecture, the successful candidate will develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications using .NET, Angular, and TypeScript. They will contribute to the design of new features, build secure and maintainable software, and help modernize Ellement's technology platforms. 

As a senior member of the development team, this individual will provide technical guidance through code reviews and mentoring, collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, and help promote software development best practices. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications by delivering end-to-end solutions across the full technology stack, including user interfaces, APIs, business services, databases, and system integrations.  
  • Design, build, and enhance applications within a microservices-based architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.  
  • Develop secure RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems.  
  • Analyze business and technical requirements, translating them into high-quality software solutions that align with architectural standards and business objectives.  
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and development team to understand business requirements, refine technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software.  
  • Contribute to the ongoing modernization of Ellement's administration, member, employer, and internal business applications.  
  • Contribute to solution architecture, technical design, and technology selection for new initiatives and platform enhancements.  
  • Ensure applications adhere to established architectural standards, coding practices, security requirements, and performance expectations.  
  • Design and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, and data access strategies to support application performance and scalability.  
  • Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback to promote best practices and maintain high development standards.  
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot software to ensure functionality, stability, quality, and alignment with business requirements.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across front-end, back-end, database, integration, and production environments.  
  • Participate in deployment planning, release management, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Document technical solutions, code changes, and development processes to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.  
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices, recommending improvements where appropriate.  
  • Contribute to team goals by completing other related duties and projects as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications. 
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing full-stack applications using .NET (C#), Angular, and TypeScript. 
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end software solutions, from technical design and development through deployment and ongoing support. 
  • Strong experience designing and developing applications within a microservices architecture, including RESTful APIs, service integrations, and distributed application design. 
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design and development using Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive web application development. 
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture. 
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise software solutions. 
  • Experience with source control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple application layers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and continuously evolving development environment. 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and handle confidential information with discretion. 
  • Experience in pension administration, benefits administration, or financial services is considered an asset. 
  • Successful completion of a cleared criminal background check is required.Â
