SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking versatile and experienced Equipment Operators/ Pipelayers/ Skilled Laborers to join our growing Site team. The Equipment Operators will mainly operate on project sites located in Sussex and Kent County, DE, as well as Worcester, Wicomico, Dorchester, and Caroline counties in Maryland. This position involves the operation of heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, dozers, track loaders, and haul trucks.
Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Equipment Operator
  • Operate equipment in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all aspects of construction.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Pipelayer
  • Install new pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains in prepared trenches.
  • Ensure pipes are aligned properly and positioned on grade and on line.
  • Assist with backfilling and operating compaction equipment as needed.
  • Recognize and mitigate job site hazards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the crew.

Skilled Laborer
  • Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Assist with removal of fine grade stones along curb lines and sidewalks.
  • Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

REQUIREMENTS
Equipment Operator
  • Previous equipment operation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow construction site drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications is preferred.
  • Maintain all tools required for Equipment Operators
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and a drug/alcohol test.

Pipelayer/ Skilled Laborer
  • Knowledge of underground utilities and general construction processes.
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as track loaders, graders, or similar machinery.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and contributing to a safe job site environment.
  • Punctuality and dependability are essential.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
