Aerotek is hiring for a 2nd shift General Laborer in Sussex County, DE. This is a highly physical position with a highly reputable manufacturing company!



Job Description

The General Laborer supports manufacturing and fabrication operations by performing manual metal finishing, assisting machine operators, and handling materials throughout the facility. This highly physical role involves grinding and smoothing welds, maintaining product quality, and working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual grinding, sanding, and finishing of welded metal components to meet established quality standards.
  • Inspect welds and finished parts for defects and ensure a smooth, consistent finish on all components.
  • Assist machine operators with equipment setup, operation, and basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Move raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished products throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload materials from machines, workstations, and storage areas using proper handling techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and company policies at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on production and business needs.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in general labor or production environments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive grinding and finishing motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently squat, bend, kneel, and work in low or awkward positions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials on a repetitive basis, often in the 25–50+ lb range.
