Database Administrator III
Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract
Role Overview
This position involves the full life cycle management of DB2 mainframe databases, from initial analysis through decommissioning. The role will also engage in DB2 related z/OS Database initiatives, REXX programming, Python programming, and the extraction of SMF data for performance analysis. A hybrid work schedule is required, with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of DB2 mainframe databases.
  • Participate in z/OS Database initiatives related to DB2.
  • Develop and maintain REXX and Python programs.
  • Extract and analyze SMF data to monitor and improve DB2 performance.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of DB2 Database experience is required.
Technical Skills: Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of SMF data and REXX. A working knowledge of Splunk and Python programming is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in application development.
  • Knowledge of database replication.
  • A comprehensive database administration skillset with Db2 on mainframe.
