CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant

Per Diem - Working as needed

UMC is currently seeking C.N.A's for our Bristol Glen Senior Care Community located in Newton, NJ. Bristol Glen Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is a thoughtfully designed to provide person directed care in a home-like environment to ensure exceptional care and quality of life for our residents.


The CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant performs various non-professional nursing care activities and related services necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of the residents.

Requirements for a CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months in a Long Term Care or Assisted Living setting.
  • Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey in good standing.
  • Current certification from NJDOHSS approved Medication Administration Course.

Responsibilities for a UMC CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:

  • Perform personal care activities for resident(s), including but not limited to: bathing/showering, shampoo hair, skin care/nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, and dressing.
  • Maintain all required documentation in accordance with established UMC policy.
  • Assist residents with the use of adaptive equipment, including but not limited to; walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures and hearing aids.
  • Assist residents during mealtimes: including seating them, serving, cutting their food, verbal prompting and/or assisting residents with eating. Coordinates the delivery of trays to sick residents in Assisted Living residence.
  • Reads and understands the individualized summary plan for residents, and provides support to the residents according to their summary and service plan.
  • Take and record vital signs & weights as instructed by nurse. Makes rounds several times each shift to identify residents needing assistance.
  • Observe residents closely, identifying changing needs and conditions at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing or leadership as appropriate.
