Position Overview

The Superintendent will oversee and manage all construction activities on our infrastructure and water projects. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in civil engineering, project management, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will ensure that all civil work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all civil activities on assigned projects.
  • Supervise and mentor civil crews, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials, and approve monthly job cost updates.
  • Identify and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular project updates.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
  • Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management)
  • Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff through performance evaluations
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/leadership capacity
  • Associated or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred 
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit's policies, procedures and software programs. 
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise. 
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Ability to access all areas on a construction project site

Base Compensation: $115,000/yr - $120,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
