Description:
The Department Specialist will coordinate the Home Patient delivery routes and resolving problems related to method of delivery, across numerous facilities (up to 4-5 locations), multiple CDL Delivery Drivers (up to 45+ employees), and up to 4800+ home patient customers spread across numerous states with large geographical areas and geographical challenges. This person schedules and coordinates the transportation of products to satisfy customer requirements. Will analyze distribution, cost analysis, resources, and other problems to provide or formulate and develop modified solutions to business issues affecting the daily operations function.
Your team
  • Provides ongoing routing solutions to improve database maintenance and regularly generates reports using various software applications to analyze actual department performance. Make alternate freight transportation when vital.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating and scheduling for vacations, holidays, and other unplanned events on a rolling 12 week calendar.
  • Performs a variety of traffic activities which includes the audit of freight bills, processing property claims, selecting and recommending carriers.
  • Prepare and distribute daily paperwork for drivers to field operations contacts. Coordinate workflow with 3PL (e.g. Cardinal) to ensure that picking, sequencing, staging and checking of products are completed in an accurate and timely manner for all private fleet and commercial deliveries.
  • Works with management, vendors, and Service Specialistโ€™s to ensure daily and/or weekly submission and compliance with Driver Qualification files (JJ Keller), driver logs, fuel trip reports, fuel tax reporting, timecards, expense reports and all other State/Federal DOT rules/regulations.
  • Make required phone calls and/or send emails to Internal (e.g. sales, customer service, credit and collections, routing, service specialists, etc.) and External customers (e.g. Home patients, Clinic nurses, etc.) clinics on deliveries with special shipping instructions, short lead times, returns and redeliveries, in order to ensure the provision of effective service that meets and exceeds the Customer and Nurse delivery expectations.
  • Update order information/ updated progression notes that address all delivery changes or discrepancies. May serve as the first point of contact for a driver (private or commercial) with delivery issues.

  • Previous distribution and transportation experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years or more of relevant professional experience required.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (e.g. Word and Excel), and multiple software applications.
  • Be team oriented and independent self-direction and ability to produce results.
