Role Summary

We're looking for an experienced, strategic leader to serve as Director of our Transportation Insurance division. In this role, you'll set the vision, guide day-to-day operations, and help grow a strong, compliant, and trusted transportation insurance business. You'll bring deep expertise in commercial transportation insurance and a passion for building high-performing teams and lasting client relationships.

Day in the Life

As Director, your day blends big-picture strategy with hands-on leadership. You might start by aligning with your executive team on performance and priorities, connect with brokers or key clients to strengthen partnerships, and then shift into shaping growth initiatives or addressing emerging risks in the transportation insurance market. No two days are the same, but each one moves the business forward.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Set and execute the long-term vision and annual business plans for the Insurance division
  • Lead market positioning for liability and cargo insurance products in the transportation space
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including partnerships, new markets, and product expansion
  • Oversee underwriting, claims, compliance, risk management, sales, and customer service
  • Establish and track key performance metrics to drive efficiency and profitability
  • Build and lead a high-performance, values-driven leadership team
  • Develop strong relationships with brokers, agents, reinsurers, and key transportation clients
  • Represent Triumph at industry events, conferences, and regulatory forums
  • Stay current on transportation regulations and emerging risks affecting motor carriers
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, including loss ratios
  • Partner with actuaries and underwriters to support sound pricing and risk decisions
  • Ensure all operations meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Report regularly to the Board on performance, strategy, and progress

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10-15 years of leadership experience in commercial insurance, including 5+ years in a senior executive role
  • Deep expertise in transportation insurance, especially liability and cargo lines
  • Proven ability to lead senior leaders, manage change, and scale a business
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and performance management
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Ethical, collaborative leader who builds trust and models integrity
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Eligible to obtain required state insurance licenses
  • Willingness to travel as needed
