Job description

Position Overview:

As a Transportation Dispatch Clerk – you will be responsible for scheduling drivers for daily routes, planning pre-determined routes, accommodating route changes as needed and preparing necessary work order.  You will also be responsible for the tracking of drivers on a day to day basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General administrative duties including but not limited to answering office phones and replying to emails in a timely fashion
  • Perform all dispatch window functions including but not limited to: gate in/out, logging shuttles, distributing glad hand locks, receiving and verifying all documentation drivers return with
  • Dispatching afternoon drivers and rolling loads; re-planning backhauls as needed
  • Update daily dispatch sheet and driver tracking; Submit late loads notifications as needed
  • Monitor Bozzuto’s driver locations and ensuring they are on time throughout the shift and report any potential delays/detentions to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor hourly updates from outside carrier tracking emails (Marten, JRC etc.) – following up when necessary
  • Communicate with drivers as needed to resolve issues and escalate to leadership/inbound department when necessary
  • Maintain route and PO changes
  • Organize driver envelops to include manifests, all pickups and delivery documents
  • Reviewing documentation of all inbound backhaul and 3rd party paperwork to ensure all PO’s have been picked up while maintaining accurate and up to date information in the system
  • Review backhaul and book out screens at the end of day to ensure all loads have been picked up or planned to be while reflecting accuracy of information in the system
  • Verify the accuracy of backhauls in drawer against the YMS screen
  • Scan backhaul paperwork into Global search system daily
  • Update warehouse appointments for all backhauls once departing the facility
  • Cross reference YMS and Samsara to accurately reflect any and all drop trailers at vendors
  • Create daily tracking spreadsheet; report out detailed shift report to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Environment:  

  • Transportation Offices - approx. 60*F - 75*F

Schedule:

  • Tuesday  -  Saturday
  • 8:00am - 4:30pm

Compensation:

  • $18.00 - $22.50

Experience:

  • Preferred transportation experience, DOT knowledge of rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems such as but not limited to Global, YMS,E-mail, Voice mail etc
  • Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Skills:

  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 75lbs.; the ability to operate required facility equipment; must be to climb in and out of tractors in order to switch out and update mobile devices
  • Strong Communication Skills: Communication of expectations and directions in a clear, concise and professional manner; reporting data and information accurately to leaders and team members
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multi-task during shift, ability to prioritize tasks based on impact
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product and data from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies and demonstrate safe practices throughout shift
