Overview
The Donor Coordinator Transplant Assistant will provide essential clerical and administrative support to the Donor Coordinator RN, ensuring the smooth operation of the organ offer and acceptance process. This role involves initial response to UNOS organ offer notifications, documentation, communication with OPO coordinators, and various logistical tasks. The assistant will play a vital role in maintaining transplant readiness and compliance with regulatory requirements related.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Position requires high school graduate with two to five years of progressively responsible secretarial/administrative experience. Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in organ transplantation or a similar environment, is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as tasks may require. This position requires a person with initiative and the ability to take on responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to problem solve is essential. Must be organized, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.Must have working knowledge of computer applications including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet development. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Epic or OTTR, and familiarity with Teams is preferred. Must require minimum supervision and be able to exercise sound independent judgement. Must be able to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment; using appropriate CQI tools. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individual personalities. Must be able to work in an environment where access to and control of confidential information is significant issue. Must be able to work independently and for extended periods at a computer.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required)::Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.License/Certification Requirement:none
