TransPerfect seeks a Translation Coordinator in its Santa Clara, CA location (on-site). The Translation Coordinator will independently execute all translation and interpretation projects from start to finish and serve as a single point of accountability for their successful completion, with a focus on ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness and on-time delivery across multilingual content.
Specifically, the duties are:
  • Use translation and interpretation management systems (e.g., CAT tools and TMS) to process multilingual requests and assign qualified linguists based on language pair, specialization and certification status.
  • Apply linguistic quality assurance (LQA) practices and perform final deliverable reviews before client delivery
  • Manage end-to-end execution of translation and interpretation projects, including task scoping, linguist assignment, workflow setup, timeline management, QA, budgeting and delivery.
  • Ensure instructions are fully understood before initiating the project workflow, coordinating with Account Executives and Client Services to clarify, modify, or correct project instructions and parameters as needed.
  • Coordinate prescheduled and emergent translation requests across a broad range of language pairs, ensuring proper translator qualification, schedule adherence and cultural accuracy.
  • Return completed projects to Account Executives/Client Services on time.
  • Gain proficient knowledge of language mix of assigned client(s) and language/communication access needs.
  • Gain cultural competency for language mix of assigned client(s) and support of linguists for interpretation requests.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client-specific language needs, including dialectal variations and cultural considerations.
  • File compliance reports and conduct detailed investigations related to service delivery, translator qualifications and language access complaints; propose remediation plans and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
  • Investigate and resolve client complaints.
  • Perform all duties independently, managing and enhancing client relationships.
  • Ensure alignment with federal, state and client-specific language access regulations and privacy standards.

Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, translation, interpretation, localization, or related field. The successful candidate must also have proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) and one (1) year of Project Management or coordination experience within the translation and localization industry, which includes experience with the following:
  • Experience with CAT tools, including Trados and memoQ.
  • Experience with translation management systems (TMS) Plunet, Multi-Trans, and SDL Atlas.
  • Experience with project management platform Quickbase.
  • Familiarity with ISOstandards.

Salary Amount/Range $65,042./year.
