Job description

Mission

The mission for this role is to drive Truth For Life's content translation creation and distribution.  Translation is achieved through relationships with publishers and translators.  Position includes process monitoring and budgeting, and management of department operations including Translation Coordinator.  Feedback, distribution opportunities and innovative approaches are pursued in collaboration with other departments to support overall TFL mission.  Reporting to the COO, this role is the primary contact for translation partners internationally. This position is essential to supporting the mission of the ministry of Truth For Life.

Outcomes for year 1

1.     Maintain and expand tracking for ongoing projects regarding international translation.

2.     Personally engage with translation partners, looking to establish a personal relationship.

3.     Pursue new translation projects (books, articles, video and/or audio).

4.     Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports to show both projects and distribution.

5.     Establish and follow record-keeping practices to ensure TFL saves and organizes all translated material.

Proactively contact translation partners throughout the year to adequately maintain relationships.

Proactive contact to each translation partner each quarter with an annual summary provided to and reviewed with the partner.

Actively monitor and evaluate ongoing translated materials distribution performance.

Work with Digital and Stations departments to refine translation content response metrics.

Review low 'performing' materials and implement initiatives to increase distribution.

Translation opportunities research

Document future opportunities for expansion of translate TFL content, brand, reach.

Seek out and support opportunities for Get-Keep-Grow Campaigns with Partners

Conduct International Partner GKG Campaigns with an eye on long-term follower cultivation.

Develop a world-class Global Outreach team through recruitment, coaching, training and project planning.

Personally participate in 40 hours ongoing training.  Oversee Translation Coordinator.

Create long-term staffing plan in conjunction with COO and Director of HR.

Support One Page Plan Priorities

Priorities considered individually, per progress as determined in conjunction with Strategic Planning process.

Create Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure performance

Create 5 central KPI's for the Global Outreach Department 

Principal Accountabilities:

Translation Management

       Oversee the translation process of Alistair Begg's Bible teachings into multiple languages.

       Ensure translations maintain the integrity and accuracy of the original content.

       Collaborate with translators and linguistic experts to ensure cultural relevance and sensitivity.

Distribution Strategy

       Develop and implement a global distribution strategy for translated materials.

       Identify and establish partnerships with international publishers and distributors.

       Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of distribution channels and make necessary adjustments.

Partnership Development

       Build and maintain relationships with partner publishers and distributors.

       Negotiate contracts and agreements with partners to ensure favorable terms.

       Coordinate with partners to ensure timely and efficient distribution of materials.

Quality Assurance

       Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards of translation and distribution.

       Conduct regular reviews and audits of translated materials and distribution processes.

       Address any issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively.

Project Management

       Manage multiple translation and distribution projects simultaneously.

       Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.

       Track project progress and report on key metrics.

Team Leadership

       Lead and mentor a team of translators, project coordinators, and distribution specialists.

       Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

       Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Desired Qualifications:

       Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, International Relations, or a related field.

       Minimum of 5 years of experience in translation management and/or global distribution.

       Proven track record of managing translation projects and partnerships with international publishers.

       Strong understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivity in translation.

       Excellent project management and organizational skills.

       Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.

       Strong communication and negotiation skills.
