Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Gerontology - Adult Home Care at the Sylvania Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.
This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Instructor Qualifications

GRN 172 Adult Home Care Training

  • Master's degree in gerontology, nursing, social work, or human services

  • Three (3) years recent, full-time, non-teaching experience in long term care or care management

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in gerontology, nursing social work, or human services

  • Four (4) years recent, full-time, non-teaching working experience in long term care or care management

OR

  • AAS degree in gerontology, nursing social work, or human services

  • Five (5) years recent, full-time, non-teaching working experience in long term care or care management

OR

  • Demonstrated competency and qualifications in adult care home operations and levels of care

  • Oregon Division of Seniors & People with Disabilities, Office of Licensing & Quality of Care Approval to teach the Ensuring Quality Care Curriculum. [EQC Instructor Approval must be attached to the PCC Instructor Approval documentation]

Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.

Hourly rates are determine based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
