GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS

Responsible for transporting clients and staff to community activities and assisting with documentation, supervision and instruction of clients on site an in the community.

Requirements:

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing safe transport to and from community outings
  • Following transportation procedures including pre and post trip inspections, travel logs, maintenance requests , sanitizing the vehicle and other required duties/paperwork
  • Assists with client instruction, as assigned
  • Assists with implementation of training programs
  • Reports unusual incidents to Service Team Coordinator (STC)
  • Gives input on program improvements to the Program Assistant or Program Manager
  • Assists with the arrival and departure of clients (attendance and health check)
  • Observation and documentation as assigned
  • Gives input on scheduling
  • Ensures a safe and orderly teaching environment
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 21 years of age
  • Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
  • Health screening and TB Test clearance within 7 days of employment
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Qualify for coverage under EXCEED insurance
  • CPR Certification within 45 days of employment
  • Ability to role model for clients in socially appropriate behavior and attitudes
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in related discipline or experience with persons with disabilities

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time as there is little sitting in the course of the day
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling to provide training or retrieve stored materials
  • Good hearing and vision to monitor client activities, provide non-work training and perform other duties
  • Good general health and mobility
  • Ability to lift at least 10lbs.
  • Ability to speak clearly and be easily understood by others
  • Physical stamina to work up to 5 hours a day Monday-Friday

MENTAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to understand and translate training activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic math skills to complete client records and reports
  • Writing skills to complete reports and client ID Notes
  • Ability to be observant
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks
  • Judgment necessary to make decisions relative to training, service quality and safety

Reports to the Program Assistant or Program Manager

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or based on client’s schedule / needs

PAY: $17.64–$18.74 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
