Help Others Succeed Through Learning

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver engaging training programs that help participating employers understand and meet their payroll reporting responsibilities. This role combines training, relationship management, and operational support to ensure employers and staff have the knowledge and resources needed to be successful.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training through a variety of formats, including live presentations, virtual sessions, videos, and written guides.
  • Create and maintain training materials, presentations, reference guides, and online resources.
  • Partner with various departments and auditing staff to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and effective.
  • Assess training effectiveness and continuously improve learning materials and delivery methods.
  • Support onboarding and development of department staff by providing training and feedback on progress.
  • Assist assigned accounts with reconciliation, payroll reporting, payments, and related inquiries.
  • Review website and customer portal content and recommend updates as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, policy development, and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience delivering presentations and speaking to groups.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel within the state; valid driverโ€™s license and maintenance of a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with effective training methodologies.

Salary: Begins at $67,787 if annualized
