Job description

The Training and Development Specialist will perform and develop training sessions for all organizational levels, groups, individual offices, directorates and participants for USCIS Office of Security and Integrity (OSI).
The work location for this position is on-site in Camp Springs, Maryland.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and delivers employee training programs.
  • Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organizations employee population and develops training content in response to identified training needs.
  • Selects training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted.
  • Creates and maintains course content, manuals, or other training materials.
  • Assesses the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter. Performs work under general supervision.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Train designated USCIS employees in AdHoc roles that include User Manager, Alert Publisher, Advanced Alert Publisher, Alert Manager, Organization Administrators, Accountability Officers, Managers and Users.
  • Train in-class and virtual training environments.
  • Creating content for all levels of training as required and online.
  • Create in-class and virtual modules and objectives for training courses.
  • Liaison with BlackBerry's master trainers on relevant training standards and training packages.
  • Provide USCIS business rules training for the PENS systems such as; Alert Folders, Template Creation, Distribution list, etc.
  • Scheduling training: (2) Standard monthly USCIS training sessions for all groups.
  • Individual Offices or Directorates training as requested.
  • Track training completion progress for Program Managers, User Manager, Alert Publisher, Organization Administrators and Accountability Officers, Accountability Managers.

Qualifications
  • Minimum High School diploma/GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years training experience, leading in-class and virtual instruction.
  • Skills Requirement includes instructional design, Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word and Teams.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal and credit history background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability determination.
  • Strong public speaking skills are also required.
