About You

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is accountable for all aspects of building, selling, and executing joint business plans that deliver the objectives of the Wakefern/ShopRite Team and Kimberly-Clark Family Care (Paper) Business Unit. The BDM will lead Joint Business Planning both internally, involving key internal stakeholders from BU Sales, Marketing, etc, and externally alongside key customer contacts to gain alignment on goals and plans. They then execute those plans and check/adjust as necessary to achieve agreed upon goals. Candidate must be located within approximately 2 hours of Edison, NJ.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver Net Sales, Contribution, Category Share, and DPSM Objectives for Wakefern/ShopRite team and Family Care (Paper) BU(s)

  • Adhere to Trade Promotion and pricing guidelines while managing budgeted trade

  • Sell and Negotiate JBP goals that are mutually agreed upon with assigned Wakefern

  • Manage Delivery of Plan and Business Objectives (Check and Adjust)

  • An understanding of market dynamics and class of trade strategies.

  • The ability to strategically develop and implement creative marketing, pricing and sales policies and programs to exceed sales volume objectives while managing budgeted trade for Wakefern/ShopRite sales.

  • Serving as liaison between the customer, team counterparts, and internal team

  • Strong ability to concisely communicate in writing and orally to individuals and groups both internally (Business Unit, VP's, Teammates, etc., and externally (all levels of the customer).

  • Communicate creative business solutions to customers and K-C Team Leader in order to achieve objectives and drive sales and share.

  • Craft and deliver persuasive professional PowerPoint Sales presentations to communicate data driven insights and recommendations to drive DPSM.

  • Demonstrate and strategically apply consumer industry and cross-category knowledge and expertise. Strategically organize and develop quarterly and annual plans to drive weekly and monthly prioritizations of key development activities and projects to achieve superior management of business operations. Arrange meetings with customer executives.

  • Keep team leader informed on status of plans and programs, changing conditions, requirements of marketplace, competitive activity, issues and accomplishments that may affect sales results.

  • Render judgments and make timely decisions in alignment with business objectives.

  • Independently set priorities and proactively identify issues, underlying problems, magnitude of situations and potential solutions and developing a plan of action.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Education required: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Experience: At least 5+ years' progressive exempt status experience in business and customer management or equivalent in other business functions.

  • Experience presenting to Senior Level management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of forecasting, supply and demand processes, shelf reset experience, business planning processes and tools.

  • Experience working in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry and K-C customer/retailer accounts

  • Strong record of exceeding sales objectives

  • Knowledge of K-C brands and categories

  • Track record of developing and executing unique solutions and innovation to customers

  • Digital commerce experience

  • Skills/Competencies: Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills, results and strategy orientation, business intuition, business management and planning, brand management, leadership, building strong relationships.

  • Other Skills: Mentoring, Networking, employee training and development, Supply Chain, Decision Making, Prioritization, and Problem Solving

Salary Range: 134,520 - 166,160 USDAt Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
