QUALIFICATIONS:
[CDA-SA pools]ย Child Development Assistant-School Age positions are entry-level and work with Discovery Club. ย Please provide information and documentation with your application that demonstrates relevant experience and/or education for this position. Preferences include (but are not required):

  • Proof of Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC);
  • Higher education that includes completion of college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) desirable;
  • Completion of 6 ECE units desirable. ย (If providing transcripts with application, they must be OFFICIAL transcripts. ย If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university, and YOU MUST provide the evaluation document.)
  • Previous experience working with school-age children ages 5-12.


[ITPRE & SA @ Subsidized Sites ONLY FOR NORTHRIDGE, MARIPOSA and CARMICHAEL]ย  List on application experience, training, and education that is relevant to this position.ย  Looking for applicants with previous experience working with infant/toddler children ages 0-3 years and/or preschool children ages 3-5 years.ย  This position requires an Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) or proof that qualifications are met for the ATP from the CTC. ย All applicants MUST pre-qualify by attaching applicable documentation from one of the options listed in "Materials Required/Requirements".
MATERIALS REQUIRED/REQUIREMENTS:
[CDA-SA pools]ย  Completed application listing experience, education, and/or training that is relevant to this position.ย  Desirable additional qualifying documentation include providing proof of ATP from the CTC, proof of higher education, and proof of completion of 6 ECE units.

  • Option #1

Attach a copy of your Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing that includes the document number (not the item that looks like a diploma) demonstrating you meet this requirement.

If you do not hold such a permit, you must demonstrate that you qualify for the permit by attaching the following items:

1.ย  OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of (2) two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units). Transcripts must prove completion of 12 units ECE/Child Development courses including core courses. Transcripts that state "Unofficial" are not accepted. If the degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalent to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
AND

2.ย  Proof of completion of at least 50 days' experience in an instructional capacity in a childcare and development program, working at least 3 hours per day within the last 2 years. Proof must be on employer official letterhead.ย
