A Day in the Life:
The Operator Trainee is responsible for learning and overseeing multiple functions of the soybean processing facility. This role is also responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture withing the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Position Details:
12-hour rotating shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
Pay: $27.10 an hour

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Review shift logs and plant status throughout the workday
  • Recognize signs of operational failure and proceed and act accordingly
  • Operate, control, inspect, and troubleshoot various soybean processing equipment, and document as needed
  • Make regular process adjustments to maintain operating parameters as needed
  • Collect, record, and perform necessary process control tests, and document as needed
  • Collect and process quality product samples
  • Follow HACCP procedures and guidelines to ensure product safety and quality
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the plant
  • Cross train in all processes
  • Obtain process safety management certification
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience as a process technician (2+ years preferred), or completed or actively working on a 2-year process technician degree
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safety-conscious and highly quality-controlled environment
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
