Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot and perform a variety of repairs on semi-trailers

• Steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding

• Air and electrical system diagnostics and repair

• Respond to mobile service calls as needed, ensuring timely and professional repairs.

• Preventative maintenance

• Certified to conduct DOT inspections (or willing to become certified)

• Trailer body repairs

• Follow company repair and safety best practices

• Maintain and promote a safe work environment

• Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment

• Assist other technicians as needed


Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

• Basic set of tools and previous experience preferred

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position

• Driver's License (Required)

• Day shift M-F (no weekends)


North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We are a family-owned and operated company with 2nd and 3rd generations taking the reins of leadership.

NCU offers reefers, dry vans, and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well.

Our parts department has an extensive inventory of Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensure we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts.

Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections, to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. With the addition of Cargobull reefer units to the Utility portfolio, NCU is expanding our Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) and mobile service capabilities. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.

This position is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.
