Description

We are excited to be adding a to the MAC Trailer Team. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the plant maintenance department. Direct and utilize direct reports ensuring that the plant equipment is operating effectively and is properly maintained to achieve production requirements. They are responsible for keeping accurate inventory of shop and welding supplies, and small tools on hand. This position ensures all breakdowns are repaired in a timely fashion, and all preventive and scheduled maintenance duties are completed. Also has responsibility for upkeeping and maintenance of plant buildings and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory with service records.
  • Preform timely preventative maintenance and updates to needed equipment.
  • Work closely with operations and safety teams to ensure all levels of safety are met.
  • Work within an agreed upon budget for all controllable expenses.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for shop supplies, small tools, welding supplies to meet production demands.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure all equipment is in working order and repairs are timely.
  • Ensure all aspects of buildings and grounds are maintained and in good working order through internal staff and subcontractors if needed.
  • Keep a welcoming and clean ground inside and outside of the facility.
  • Report and repair any property damage to appropriate personnel.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
  • Manage the service and repair in all areas of plumbing, plastering, carpentry, painting, automotive, electrical, and industrial servicing.
  • Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Production Manager or Human Resources for action
  • Set examples of safe practices through conduct
  • Investigate and correct, or have corrected promptly, unsafe conditions
  • Know, observe, and enforce all the general safety rules and special instructions for the department
  • Thoroughly acquaint each employee with safety instructions and practice
  • Take part in workplace safety and health program activities and contribute to their success
  • Investigate and report all personal injuries and illnesses sustained on the job by personnel within their area of responsibility
  • Welcome and utilize, as far as practical, the safety suggestions which may be made by the workers
  • Instruct new personnel on safety and carefully observe their work
  • Ensure workers have and use personal protective equipment as determined by the Safety Manager
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are safe and proper working condition
  • Directly supervises various employees in the Maintenance Department
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Interview and train employees
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Reward and discipline employees
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Any other duties assigned

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • 5+ years of experience or training in maintenance related field
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being physically capable of maneuvering throughout, work area, product, and equipment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
