Production Engineering Overview
The Production Engineering (PE) Division is responsible for designing and building assembly lines, machines, and factories that build Toyota vehicles, engines, and transmissions. Production Engineering also leads new model introductions across the region through planning, procuring, installing, trialing, and launching assembly lines.
Who we're looking for
As a co-op in Toyota Production Engineering, you will be assigned between one and three projects that deliver tangible value to the organization. These projects may involve initiatives such as reducing costs or defects, enhancing machine efficiency, gathering and analyzing production data, redesigning parts or components for improved manufacturability, optimizing floor layouts, and implementing comprehensive safety checks and procedures, among other responsibilities.
Furthermore, you will operate within a collaborative team setting, with an assigned manager to oversee your daily responsibilities and guide your development plan, as well as a mentor dedicated to supporting your personal and professional objectives.
Co-op's will work on a variety of engineering assignments in the following groups:
  • Battery Manufacturing Engineering - Battery Cell, Battery Pack
  • Environmental & Facilities Engineering
  • Unit and Core Engineering - Stamping, Plastics and Powertrain
  • Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering - Body, Assembly, Paint
  • Manufacturing Business Operations - Advanced Planning, Strategy and Planning, Manufacturing Project Innovation, Safety

What you bring
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • Must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota sponsorship for immigration-related employment (including but not limited to H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, or F-1 OPT extension) now or in the future
  • Must have completed at least one full academic year at a two-year or four-year college or university post-high school (sophomore standing or above)
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, accredited degree program (this includes both two-year and four-year college/university) studying in an Engineering discipline, such as: Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Environmental, Mechatronics, Civil and Aerospace Engineering
  • Must have a reliable transportation
