Who we're looking for

Toyota'sProduction EngineeringDepartment is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedSenior Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support daily Production Processes and Operations, model change activities, maintenance activities, equipment procurement, installation and refurbishments and new business opportunities.

The person in this role will support the Stamping, Weld and Paint department's objective to achieve daily key performance indicators for Safety, Quality, Cost and Productivity, and plan and implement processes for new models and business.

This position is based in Long Beach, CA. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What you'll be doing

  • Support achieving company hoshin targets by participating in assigned activities.

  • Work with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to promote daily achievement of KPI's.

  • Support cross functional cooperation/communication between Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Management, Quality and Production Control members.

  • Provide manufacturing and maintenance shops with technical and problem-solving support to solve issues and report results.

  • Engineering project management and implementation. Must be able to work weekends and shut-down periods as needed.

  • Provide support and coordinate activities to reduce/eliminate impact to Production from process changepoints.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in mechanical, electrical and/or controls within a manufacturing environment

  • Production Engineering experience in a Manufacturing environment

  • Experience with CAD and CATIA, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D/3D drawings

  • Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation, such as drawings, reports, manuals, technical specifications, etc. for engineering use

  • Experience with PLC's and controls, robotics, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems including the ability to read, interpret, edit and modify PLC code

  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to all levels of team members and leadership

  • Experience developing scope of work to submit for bid to contractors

  • Engineering/Project Management experience for projects greater than $100K, including new capital expenditures for equipment installation and repair

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering

  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing department, such as Stamping, Welding, Paint or similar

  • Experience writing project proposals, including budget, for installations, refurb and/or repair

  • Toyota Business Practice (TBP) completed through panel or equivalent documented problem-solving certification

  • Experience using risk analysis tools such as PFMEA

  • Experience developing "Necessary Condition" for new/existing processes

The annual base salary range for this position is $119,400.00 - $194,000.00.
