As of Jul 14, 2026, the average yearly pay for deployable in California is $94,743.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $76,000.00 and $116,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by deployable IT specialists when working in field environments?

Deployable IT specialists often encounter challenges such as adapting quickly to unfamiliar or austere environments, ensuring reliable connectivity with limited infrastructure, and troubleshooting technical issues under time constraints. They may also need to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including non-technical personnel, to support mission-critical operations. Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are essential for overcoming these challenges and ensuring successful technology deployments in the field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Deployable Operations Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Deployable Operations Specialist, you need expertise in logistics, emergency management, and field operations, often supported by relevant certifications such as FEMA ICS or military training. Familiarity with mobile communications equipment, GPS systems, and incident management software is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and effective teamwork are crucial soft skills for success in unpredictable environments. These abilities ensure rapid, coordinated responses to critical situations, maximizing mission effectiveness and safety.

What are Deployables?

Deployables are professionals or assets that are prepared and equipped to be sent to various locations, often on short notice, to provide specific skills or support. In a job context, 'deployable' typically refers to employees or teams who can be rapidly mobilized for assignments such as disaster response, military operations, technical support, or humanitarian missions. These roles require flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under varying and sometimes challenging conditions. Deployables often undergo specialized training to ensure they are ready to operate effectively in diverse environments.

Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are fundamentally changing the design, economics, manufacturing, coverage limitations and service deliveryassociated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

By building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system-with a unique antenna design, highly sustainable spacecraft system and low-cost, small portable end-user devices-we can extend global satellite coverage, capacity and connectivity beyond legacy space services to provide a new kind of IoT platform that lets users sense, track, connect and act on information gathered, anywhere.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to saving space, protecting our planet and turning connectivity into actionable intelligence.

We are looking for a Senior Structures Analyst to own the structural analysis backbone of E-Space's Integrated Antenna Structure team. This person will develop and maintain the integrated finite element model of the deployed antenna assembly, perform structural performance and dynamics analysis, and establish requirements flow-down from system-level to component-level structural margins. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone with strong eigenvalue instincts, comfort with nonlinear and large-displacement problems, and opinions on what a deployable structure FEM is actually good for and where it breaks down.

On-site in Texas preferred, California as alternate. Close proximity to hardware and test activities is important for this role.

What you'll do:
  • Own the integrated FEM of the deployed assembly, incorporating structural element stiffness and mass properties from contributing subsystem teams and deployment mechanism boundary conditions.
  • Perform deployed-state structural performance analysis: modal survey prediction, static deflection under on-orbit loads (thermal, attitude control), and margin of safety verification.
  • Develop and maintain the structural requirements allocation, flowing from system-level performance requirements down to component-level stiffness, mass, and CTE requirements for each contributing team.
  • Lead model-test correlation at each level of the V&V test pyramid: update model parameters from test data, maintain a documented correlation record.
  • Perform deployment analysis (e.g., deployable element kinematics, tensioning loads, deployment force margins, system dynamics) in support of the Deployable Structures Test Engineer's test predictions.
  • Assess structural risk of design changes and interface deviations, and provide structural input to anomaly investigation teams.
  • Develop and maintain the structural analysis error budget, tracking margin consumption as design changes occur.
Required Qualifications:
  • BS or MS or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in FEA structural analysis (Nastran, ANSYS, or equivalent) for modal, static, and linear dynamics problems.
  • Experience performing structural analysis for flight or high-reliability hardware, including margin of safety calculations and requirements compliance.
  • Experience with structural dynamics (modal analysis, frequency response, eigenvalue methods) not just static stress analysis.
  • Ability to build and maintain a system-level integrated FEM incorporating inputs from multiple contributing teams at different fidelity levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. strongly preferred for the senior-level scope.
  • Experience with large deployable structures (antennas, solar arrays, booms, or lightweight flexible systems) including specific modeling challenges: geometric nonlinearity, low-stiffness modes, and large-displacement effects.
  • Experience with model-test correlation methodology, updating model parameters from test data and bounding residual correlation uncertainty.
  • Familiarity with deployment dynamics simulation tools (multi-body dynamics, flexible-body simulation).
  • Experience with structural error budgeting or requirements allocation across a multi-team program.
  • Python or MATLAB scripting for pre/post-processing of analysis data.
$140,000 - $210,000 a year
The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors. For questions about this, please speak to the recruiter if you decide to apply for the role and are selected for an interview.

We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used-so we're looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that's your experience - then we'll be immediately wow-ed.

E-Space is not currently able to provide employment sponsorship for candidates who do not hold work authorization for the location of this role.

Why E-Space is right for you:

We want you to make the most of your journey at E-Space. That's why we support and invest in the physical, emotional and financial well-being of our team members and their families. Some of what you can expect when working at E-Space:
