Job description

Fleet, Facilities & Operations Coordinator
Tower MRL LLC - Cottage Grove, WI
Full-Time | $27-$32 per hour, based on experience
Tower MRL LLC is seeking a hands-on, organized, and mechanically capable Fleet, Facilities & Operations Coordinator to support our Tower and Vegetation operations from our Cottage Grove office.
This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports. The position combines fleet and vendor coordination, computer-based tracking and documentation, and hands-on work with vehicles, equipment, shops, warehouses, yards, and company facilities. The Coordinator helps keep approximately 40+ company trucks and drivers, 10+ trailers, tools, equipment, and facilities organized, maintained, and ready for field work.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate vehicle and trailer maintenance, repairs, DOT inspections, towing, warranty work, tires, and vendor service.
  • Monitor maintenance needs through telematics/GPS systems, mileage, driver reports, and service records.
  • Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair issues, coordinate vendors, and follow repairs through completion.
  • Inspect, prepare, load, and stage trucks, trailers, tools, equipment, and materials for scheduled tower work.
  • Maintain inventories of tools, equipment, parts, supplies, and truck contents.
  • Perform minor vehicle, equipment, and facility repairs within your skill level.
  • Coordinate new-vehicle setup, equipment installation, GPS/camera systems, decaling, and related readiness work.
  • Operate and help maintain forklifts, skid steers, lawn equipment, sprayers, generators, trailers, and similar equipment.
  • Maintain the shop, warehouse, yard, truck bays, and other company facilities.
  • Coordinate outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and facility services.
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles, trailers, parts, tools, supplies, and job materials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate fleet, maintenance, inventory, repair, and facility records.

What We're Looking For
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • General mechanical knowledge and practical troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience in fleet, facilities, equipment, shop, warehouse, maintenance, construction, utility, telecom, field service, or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, follow-through, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing operational priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to learn SharePoint, telematics/GPS, and maintenance-tracking systems.
  • Ability to safely tow trailers within applicable licensing and equipment requirements.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or obtain company-provided certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and perform physical work in shop, warehouse, yard, vehicle, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to handle occasional after-hours needs and overnight or long-distance travel.

Preferred: CDL; DOT fleet experience; telematics/GPS administration; forklift or skid-steer experience; automotive, small-engine, electrical, wiring, welding-support, carpentry, or general facilities-maintenance experience.
Schedule
Primarily Monday through Friday, with an early start preferred. Hours may vary based on vehicle returns, crew departures, weather, breakdowns, and other operational needs. Occasional evening, weekend, emergency-response, and overnight travel may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $27-$32 per hour, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with Tower MRL paying 60% of premiums
  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • 80 hours of PTO accrual during the first year
  • Up to 10 paid holidays per year after the applicable waiting period
  • 401(k) with company match up to 4%, subject to eligibility and plan terms
  • Annual boot allowance up to $100 after 90 days
