Job description

Automotive Sales Manager / General Sales Manager (Future General Manager)Melloy Ford | Los Lunas, New Mexico (Serving Albuquerque & Central New Mexico)Expected Earnings: $150,000 - $250,000+ Annually Based on Performance

Most dealerships hire Sales Managers.

We're looking for someone who wants to become a General Manager.

If you're looking for another tower to desk deals from, this probably isn't your place.

If you're looking for a dealership where you'll build people, improve processes, embrace technology, and eventually lead an entire operation, keep reading.

Melloy Ford is part of the Melloy Auto Group, a family-owned automotive dealership serving Los Lunas, Albuquerque, and Central New Mexico for more than 60 years. We proudly represent Ford Motor Company and are investing in leadership development, technology, AI, and the next generation of dealership managers.

This Isn't a Maintenance Job

We aren't looking for someone to keep the lights on.

We're looking for someone who wants to build something.

As a Sales Manager at Melloy Ford, you'll have the opportunity to help shape:

  • Sales processes
  • Leadership development
  • Inventory strategy
  • Compensation plans
  • Marketing initiatives
  • Customer experience
  • AI implementation and dealership technology
  • Dealership culture
  • Future management development

If you have ideas, we'll listen.

If they work, we'll implement them.

What You'll Do
  • Desk deals, structure transactions, and close customers consistently
  • Train, coach, and develop automotive sales professionals
  • Hold your sales team accountable to daily activity, follow-up, and results
  • Manage CRM performance, internet leads, showroom traffic, and customer follow-up
  • Drive retail sales volume, gross profit, and overall dealership performance
  • Partner with Finance & Insurance (F&I) to maximize profitability while protecting the customer experience
  • Monitor inventory, pricing strategy, and aged inventory
  • Lead from the showroom instead of hiding in the tower
  • Develop future leaders within the dealership
  • Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) performance

What Success Looks Like

Success isn't measured only by units sold.

Success means:

  • Your people improve every month.
  • Gross profit continues to grow.
  • Accountability becomes part of the culture.
  • CSI remains among the best.
  • Customers enjoy buying from Melloy Ford.
  • Managers around you become better because you're here.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...
  • You love coaching more than controlling.
  • You enjoy solving problems using numbers and data.
  • You believe accountability creates success.
  • You embrace technology instead of resisting it.
  • You enjoy building systems that make people better.
  • You want to become a General Manager someday.
  • You're still learning and looking for the next challenge.

This Probably Isn't For You If...
  • You think every problem is advertising.
  • You blame inventory for every bad month.
  • You spend more time in the tower than on the showroom.
  • You're looking for somewhere to coast until retirement.
  • You resist technology or change.
  • You believe leadership is about titles instead of developing people.

Desired Experience

We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Automotive Sales Management
  • General Sales Management
  • Automotive Finance & Insurance (F&I)
  • Desk Manager
  • Automotive Retail Management
  • Automotive Leadership
  • Deal Structuring
  • CRM Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Used Vehicle Management
  • New Vehicle Sales
  • Sales Team Development

Ford experience is preferred but not required.

Exceptional Finance Managers or Desk Managers ready to take the next step are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Receive
  • Performance-based compensation with exceptional earning potential
  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Available
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Vacation & Holidays
  • Factory Training
  • Leadership Development
  • Opportunity for advancement within Melloy Auto Group
  • Direct mentorship from experienced dealership leadership

Automotive retail isn't a Monday through Friday business. Our managers lead from the front, including evenings and weekends when our customers need us.

Why Melloy?

We're not interested in doing things simply because "that's how dealerships have always done it."

We're building a dealership that embraces:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Better Processes
  • Leadership Development
  • Modern Marketing
  • Operational Excellence
  • Accountability
  • Continuous Improvement

Our managers don't simply maintain the business.

They're expected to improve it.

Before You Apply

Don't just send us another generic resume.

Tell us about one thing you've built that you're proud of.

Maybe it's:

  • A pay plan
  • A recruiting strategy
  • A training program
  • A KPI dashboard
  • A CRM process
  • A marketing campaign
  • A process improvement that increased sales or profitability

We'd rather learn how you think than read another list of dealership names.
