Job description

Job Title: Fleet Support

Department: Fleet

Reports To: Fleet Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Position Purpose:

Assist the Fleet and Operations team with duties in an assistant environment from taking care of the yard and property and equipment to keep the Mechanics from getting sidetracked and pulled off of large tasks for simple jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Straighten up and organize yard, parts, and material storage areas including taking out Trash and Cleaning and washing trucks and equipment
  • Assist Fleet team when an extra set of hands are needs (sometimes out in the Field)
  • Make road trips to pick up and Deliver parts and equipment as needed
  • Help load tools and material on truck as needed
  • Assist with loading and unloading heavy equipment as needed
  • Drive Executive VP to Worksites as needed

Physical Aspects:

  • While performing the duties of this job, team-members are regularly required to talk or listen. The team-member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The team-member is frequently required to perform rigorous physical labor; sit; climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.); or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. Team-members frequently lift or move up to or in-excess of 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, team-members may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Team-members are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Powerline construction work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Occasionally lift items sometimes more than 75 lbs.
  • Understand and be able to safely operate a forklift
  • Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work on adverse conditions (heat, cold, rain)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred or the ability to obtain one within 90 days
