Job description

Wild Animal Safari is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment that help keep the zoo running smoothly. This is a hands-on role working on everything from rental vans and safari buses to tractors and maintenance vehicles used throughout the park.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on fleet vehicles including vans, buses, trucks, tractors, and trailers
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake service, fluid checks, tire work, and inspections
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, engine, and hydraulic systems
  • Repair small engines and maintenance equipment when needed
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and parts inventory
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
Qualifications
  • Experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic preferred
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently
  • Experience with buses, fleet vehicles, tractors, or heavy equipment is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
