About the Client

A respected Denver-area maintenance operation supporting a varied general aviation piston fleet — Cirrus, Cessna, and Diamond aircraft among them — backed by a small, technically sharp team with real momentum behind it. The shop is pushing into turboprop and electric aircraft work, with Part 145 certification on the horizon. A strong landing spot for a technician who wants to grow alongside an operation on the rise.

  • Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case, well suited for technicians relocating west along I-70 from the Wichita, KS area
  • Shift: 40 hrs/week, 4x10 or 5x8 rotation depending on operational needs, with premium pay for overtime, weekend coverage, and AOG response
  • Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, and Vision; 401(k) with employer match; flexible PTO with potential for a 4-day week; specialty tools provided; OEM factory training available for qualifying staff

Job Summary

This role keeps a busy piston GA fleet airworthy and gives a motivated technician room to build skill in avionics integration and structural repair. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this is a genuine growth opportunity inside a shop expanding its fleet diversity and technical scope — worth the move from Wichita for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and unscheduled maintenance on an active GA piston fleet, prioritizing both speed and accuracy
  • Perform and authorize annual and 100-hour inspections under 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and avionics faults using a methodical, systematic approach
  • Contribute to avionics integration work spanning basic GPS/radio installs through full flight deck and autopilot upgrades
  • Carry out minor structural and sheet metal repairs per airframe-specific guidance
  • Apply schematics, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and OEM manuals to resolve maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate, timely records in the shop's digital maintenance tracking system
  • Keep the hangar and personal workspace clean and organized
  • Take part in AOG coverage and rotating weekend shifts as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
  • 3+ years of hands-on GA piston aircraft maintenance experience as a certificated technician
  • Demonstrated experience signing off 100-hour inspections
  • Solid troubleshooting ability with electrical and avionics systems
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
  • Personal set of basic aviation hand tools
  • Strong documentation habits and clear communication with the team
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and operate safely around standard aviation chemicals and noise

Ideal Qualifications

  • Current Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Hands-on experience with modern avionics suites (Garmin G1000, Avidyne, or similar)
  • Background in airframe structural repair and sheet metal work
  • Turboprop maintenance exposure
  • Prior supervisory or lead technician experience
  • Experience in high-utilization fleet environments such as flight academies or training operations
