Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance and availability of funding. Duties and Responsibilities
The Bachelor's of Business Administration program covers a variety of courses taught across the following disciplines: Finance, Marketing, Management, Business (including Business Law), Economics, Quantitative Business Analysis, Operations Management and Management Information Systems, and Tourism. The pool will include lecturers in each of these disciplines.
- Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Conduct lectures: online, in the classroom, or in the field for each course as scheduled/assigned.
- Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course as scheduled/assigned.
- Lecturers are required to provide student evaluation report upon receipt to the Dean/Director with a 50% or higher response rate.
- Other related tasks and/or duties as assigned
- Possesses a Master's degree in a field related to the area of the teaching assignment.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Demonstrated high-quality instruction at the college level.
- Demonstrated professional engagement (consulting, running a business, etc.), experience or certification within six years of the teaching assignment in a relevant business field
- Demonstrative active research agenda (recent or forthcoming publications, works in progress, etc.)
- Evidence of prior success in teaching at University of Hawaii at Hilo.
- Possesses a Doctoral degree in a field related to the area of the teaching assignment.
