Job description

JTB Hawaii Travel, LLC, (JHT) has evolved and expanded its operations, from an on-the-ground travel support services to inbound Japan travelers, to establishing itself as Hawaii's market leader in innovative entertainment and travel services. JTB Hawaii Travel continues to develop and integrate its expertise, experience and synergy in travel planning, destination promotion and event management as it seeks to further solidify its position as a full-fledged destination management company (DMC).
Hawaii-Associate-Tourism Platform Development
Pay Range: $17.00 to $22.50 hourly
Primary Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Tourism Platform Department Manager, this position supports the development and execution of JTB Hawaii's "Tourism Platform" initiative.
This role focuses on assisting with day-to-day operations, data collection, coordination tasks, and execution of assigned activities related to PoC (Proof of Concept), service development, and digital platform support.

・Assist in collecting market data related to travel demand, customer behavior, and competitive landscape.

2. Service Testing & Continuous Improvement Support
・Assist in testing new services, features, and operational processes.
・Collect and organize operational data (usage logs, customer feedback, GPS/MAP data).
・Identify and report operational issues and improvement opportunities.
・Support ongoing service enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Transportation Service Development
・Assist in coordinating transportation services (airport transfer, trolley, shuttle, etc.).
・Support daily operations and data tracking related to services.

4. Digital Platform Development Support
・Assist with updating digital content and maintaining system data.
・Support coordination with internal teams and vendors.
・Perform basic tasks related to digital platforms (content updates, data entry, testing support).

5. Partner Development & Coordination

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. College degree or equivalent experience.
  2. 0-3 years of relevant experience in administrative, digital, or support roles preferred.
  3. Basic communication skills in English and Japanese (verbal and written).
  4. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members.
  5. Basic interpersonal skills.
  6. Interest in travel, tourism, and digital services.
  7. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  8. Familiarity with digital tools or creative platforms is a plus.
  9. Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
  10. Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  11. Valid Hawaii driver's license preferred.

Working Conditions:
Working Hours
  1. 40 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday but may work afterhours, weekends and holidays as deemed necessary.
  2. Heavy overtime seasonally, periodically, and as required.
  3. Occasional travel to various locations outside of the office, including travel to neighbor islands, continental U.S., and/or abroad, where weather conditions may vary.

Physical and Mental Demands (focus on ADA language - highlighted parts)
  1. Must be able to frequently communicate with customers/ co-workers/vendors over the phone, computer, or in person in Japanese and English.
  2. Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery,

such as a copier, printer, multi-line telephone system, cellular phone, facsimile machine,
other standard office equipment, email, vehicle.
  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  2. Must be able to observe documents from computer screens.
  3. Must be able to operate heavy camera equipment during photo shooting.
  4. Occasionally lift and/or relocate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with aid of coworkers and handcarts.
  5. Subject to atmospheric conditions including: an air conditioned office, exhaust fumes, and dust.
