Reports to:     Production Supervisor
Location:        Waco, TX
Division:         Versalift Southwest, a TIME Manufacturing Company

Shift:               1st Shift - Current Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM with occasional Fridays as needed.

(With overtime to be expected Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM- Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm).

About the Role
 The Welder is responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks related to the customization and installation of aerial lifts and truck bodies at our Versalift Southwest facility. This role involves reading blueprints, following detailed work instructions, and performing high-quality welds to ensure the durability and structural integrity of our equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld metal components and assemblies using MIG technique.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process routings, and schematics to install truck body components.
  • Construct and fabricate parts according to specifications using hand tools and welding equipment.
  • Identify and requisition parts required for fabrication or repair work.
  • Inspect and evaluate welds for conformance to specifications and overall quality.
  • Use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner to complete tasks.
  • Maintain welding tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic welding and fabrication issues.
  • Flex into other departments or tasks as production needs require.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a production or installation MIG welder.
  • Must pass a MIG welding test demonstrating proficiency in overhead, vertical, and flat welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Proficient in the safe use of welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to recognize and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Willingness to cross-train and support other areas of production.
