Job Description
GFA World is seeking an experienced information technology team leader with a heart for transforming communities through the love of Jesus Christ. As the Information Technology Coordinator at GFA, you will lead GFA's IT help desk and application development department. This is a senior-level position in which you will be responsible for ensuring that GFA's staff receive excellent technical support and that the development team operates effectively to accomplish ministry objectives. In this role, you will lead a team of 8-10 staff with technical and domain expertise, as well as oversee the training of new staff and interns as needed. This is an opportunity to let God put your talents and experience to use in a Christ-focused ministry with an enormous eternal impact.
Essential Functions
  • Care for team members and assist them in growing their skills and impact.
  • Coordinate application development projects.
  • Oversee help desk ticket prioritization, assignment, and timely resolution.
  • Work with ministry leaders to understand ministry objectives and provide corresponding prioritization for IT department projects and individual team members.
  • Lead the IT team in a coordinated response to urgent system issues or ministry needs.
  • Recommend and approve all major IT purchases.
  • Work with software and hardware vendors as primary decisionmaker and point of escalation.
  • Own IT vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure that system documentation is maintained.
  • Own software development strategy, standards, and framework.

Ability to:

  • Provide meaningful encouragement and constructive criticism for team members.
  • Gather and document user requirements.
  • Develop a good understanding of GFA's hardware and software systems.
