Position Summary:
The Operations Associate / Internship Coordinator is an administrative and programmatic position that reports to the Director of Operations and works with the Operations Team to help execute the organization's goals.
The Operations Associate / Internship Coordinator divides their time between managing the day-to-day of the DNC's internship program and assisting in broader operational projects of the organization. Managing the internship program includes outreach, recruitment, and ensuring a positive, meaningful, and successful internship experience for our intern class every semester. Additionally, the Operations Associate / Internship Coordinator will work closely with the entire Operations Department, Building Facilities group, Accounting, IT, and the Offices of the Chief Executive and DNC Chair to accomplish a wide range of organizational goals and initiatives.
Critical for success is an interest in the mission of the DNC, strong sense of personal initiative, respect for the sensitivity and confidentiality of information, and the ability to balance multiple tasks with enthusiasm and positivity.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer the DNC's internship program to include outreach, recruitment, onboarding and providing our intern class with a positive, meaningful, and successful experience every semester;
  • Consult with Operations Leadership and Human Resources as needed to refine the DNC's internship program;
  • Serves as a liaison between our interns, staff, and different departments;
  • Leads Front Desk Operations for the DNC including managing the organization wide phone system, facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating usage of conference rooms throughout the building;
  • Coordinates across the Operations and Human Resources teams to ensure that all team projects have support;
  • Oversees special projects at the discretion of the Director of Operations;
  • Facilitates operational onboarding sessions for new hires;
  • Provides ongoing support to the travel operations at the DNC;
  • Assists with executing DNC initiatives and events;
  • Develops and maintains department file management system;
  • Assists with the DNC contracting process as needed;
  • Assists in vendor management, research, and bill reconciliation as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or 4 years experience in an office environment
  • Prior internship management experience is preferred, but not required
  • Comfortable working across multiple software platforms

Travel: The Operations Associate/Internship Coordinator position will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time.
Salary: The starting salary for the Operations Associate/Internship Coordinator position is $54,100, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which means you will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
