SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is to assist the store manager to help produce sales outcomes and goals in accordance with LMIโ€™s mission, vision, core values and four pathways.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Store Manager with Staff responsibilities when needed
  • Schedule staff to ensure store coverage and smooth operation, avoiding overtime hours unless absolutely necessary.
  • Maintains time sheets for paid, volunteer, and resident work therapy
  • Reviews work performance with staff and provide training and feedback
  • Provide training, supervision, and feedback to residents as part of their work therapy, emphasizing character and work ethic-based traits. Communicate accordingly back to program staff in order to facilitate progress and achievement of Individual Care Plan.
  • Signs and forwards time sheets to the Director of Finance
  • Facilitates direction for staff under the managerโ€™s leads
  • Conduct daily devotions and weekly staff meetings and safety meetings


  • Assist the Reporting when needed
  • Completes Daily Sales Report; forwards Daily Sales Report and bank deposit slip to the Director of Thrift Operations
  • Completes month-end reports and submits to Director of Finance
  • Reviews Reports of Operations & Finances with Director of Finance on a monthly basis
  • Reporting to President/CEO daily store sales and ministry report by email and text


  • Operations/Administrative Assistant Management when needed
  • Responsible to open and/or close the store; securing money, merchandise and property
  • Makes bank deposits
  • Determines pricing with help from other manager and appropriate staff
  • Fills in on register as needed
  • Determines merchandise display, rotation, and purging
  • Order and pick up all supplies through Director of Thrift Operations and assignees


  • Maintain ample level of supplies, receipts, deposit slips etc. for store operation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, appealing, fresh smelling store, inside and out. Supervise to ensure that cleaning schedule is followed according to standard
  • Handles customer and/or staff concerns. Problems and/or accidents/incidents are to be reported to the Director of Thrift Operations on the day of occurrence
  • Keep line outside of store in order
  • Prevent theft and promote security
  • Provides/facilitates transport as needed
  • Answers phone and other inquiries
  • Seek ways to build positive relationships with customers
  • Communicate risk issues immediately to Human Resources (i.e. theft, accidents, threatening environment, etc)


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Committed Christian, able and willing to model servant-leadership and interested in being part of a ministry that ministers to the addicted, poor, and homeless.
  • Able and willing to work with residents through work therapy, sharing the transforming power of the Gospel through words and actions
  • Good cash handling skills
  • Safety conscious, able and willing to follow safety rules and standards.
  • Works well with others, able to teach and train โ€œon the jobโ€ while completing required duties of the job
  • Excellent manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination
  • Able to stand, bend, lift, and reach regularly on a daily basis. Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, more with assistance.
  • Able to work with people in varied circumstances related to homelessness including recovery and mental illness and to treat individuals with dignity and respect in all situations.
  • Good organizational skills with regard to people and things.
  • Flexible, able to appropriately respond to needs of thrift operation. May require working extra or odd hours.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to read, write and perform accurate mathematical computations.
  • Must be honest, have integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Valid Florida driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation
  • Attend LMI events which occur outside of regular business hours
  • All other duties as assigned
