Achievement House is a non-profit organization with a rich history of supporting individuals with disabilities since 1957. We are dedicated to promoting independence and inclusion through vocational training, education, and adaptive living skills programs

We are currently seeking a Full Time Thrift Store Job Coach to join our team. This role involves supporting and training individuals to help them achieve their vocational goals, ensuring the efficient operation of our Thrift Store, and working with supervisory staff to maximize donation profitability. This position is part of our Braided Day Program

We offer a $250 sign-on bonus to successful applicants!

Responsibilities
  • Provide a courteous and professional service to individuals served and the community.
  • Provide continuous instructions for work specific to vocational growth and training objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash records, inventory records, and deposit cash receipts.
  • Ensure the orderly and timely sorting, pricing, and stocking of all donations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
  • Must have own vehicle and maintain a current California driver’s license.
  • Must provide on-going proof of current state required auto insurance.
  • Must pass a LiveScan or Background Check through the California Department of Justice and the FBI / and or Intellicorp.
  • A high school education or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience working with developmentally disabled adults is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Reading, writing, basic math skills.
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Driving is required.
  • The ability to motivate others.
  • Flexible with work schedules and willing to help cover different sites as needed.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not necessary.
Physical Requirements

Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand, bend, twist and walk. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
