Position: Pet Groomer (2 Openings — Full-Time or Part-Time)

Pay: New to grooming starting at $16 Hourly Base Wage + Bonus Commission option (Once Weekly Sales Threshold is Met) + 100% Tips.

Potential to make $30,000 - $58,000 annually. You have the ability to make more based on your skills.

Experience: 2+ years of professional grooming experience strongly preferred, but willing to train someone with previous animal handling experience.

Duties

  • Perform end-to-end, 1-on-1 grooming services including checking client in, bathing, drying, brushing, haircutting, styling according to breed standards or owner preferences, and checking client out.
  • Safely handle dogs using proper restraint tools (groom loops, wall restraints, support slings) and adhere strictly to our safety policies.
  • Perform routine hygiene care, including nail trims/dremeling, ear cleaning, and skin/coat assessments, reporting any skin or health anomalies to management and relaying concerns to the owners.
  • Maintain complete client communication continuity—discussing styling preferences at check-in, delivering aftercare instructions at pickup, and logging detailed service notes.
  • Keep assigned grooming stations, tubs, tables, and shared salon spaces clean, disinfected, and organized throughout the day and perform a full clean at the end of the day.
  • Collaborate respectfully with teammates on heavy lifts or challenging handling situations, and keep the salon environment positive, professional, and drama-free.
  • Must be willing to wear company-provided or your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a face mask, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection while performing duties to maintain health and safety.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Capable of efficiently handling a minimum of 5 dogs per day.
  • Availability to work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and alternating Saturdays.
  • Knowledgeable in breed standard grooms.
  • Skills in scissoring, general cleaning, nail trimming, styling, and all other pet grooming functions.
  • Must be able and willing to work with dogs of all sizes and breeds!
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Grooming Expertise: 2+ years of professional grooming experience preferred, with strong styling skills, coat knowledge, and proper tool handling (portfolio/photos required).
  • Tools required for the job: Groomers should have their own set of shears, clippers with blades and guard combs, and brushes. However, in the unlikely event that your tools malfunction, we have spares available until you're able to have them repaired or replaced. We also have a maintenance person able to assist with maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing potential repairs on site free of charge.
  • Animal Handling & Safety: Strong knowledge of canine body language, safe restraint techniques, and a compassionate, patient approach to handling dogs.
  • Workplace Standards: Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented, with high standards for personal hygiene and a commitment to working in a drug-free, smoke-free, vape-free facility.
  • Communication: Clear, friendly communication skills for greeting clients and providing detailed, legible service notes in our management software.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand, bend, and safely assist with lifting heavy dogs throughout an active shift using proper safety equipment or team-lifting support.
  • Certifications: Pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. Pet CPR & First Aid Certification required within the first 12 months (fully paid for/provided by the company).
