Job description

The School of Biblical and Theological Studies (SBTS) at Cedarville University seeks Assistant or Associate Professor of Biblical or Theological Studies candidates. Rank is commensurate with experience. Eligibility for a tenure-track appointment will be determined based on institutional needs and candidate qualifications at the time of hire. This is a full-time faculty position.
Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should also have a commitment to ongoing research and writing.
Teaching responsibilities could include courses in the Bible Minor, Biblical Studies majors, and graduate programs. Expectations also include University-wide service, school/committee work, and academic advising. SBTS faculty members are expected to be exemplars in teaching skill, academic contribution, personal character, and discipleship of students.
Employment is subject to the University's verification of credentials along with other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. H-1B sponsorship may be available for this position depending upon legal and business considerations. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position, based in Cedarville, Ohio, is pending budget approval.
Position Requirements:
  • Completed Ph.D. in relevant discipline or Ph.D. near completion (ABD) by the time of employment
  • Passion for and excellence in teaching undergraduates in large and small class settings
  • Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ
  • Agree wholeheartedly with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant, and General Work Place Standards
