Class A Driver will shuttle trailers of finished goods and raw materials to plants and cold-storage warehouse. Will be responsible for dropping and hooking trailers and completing yard moves. This job will be 75% driving and 25% warehouse work. The Driver will start and end their shift at the Warehouse located in Altoona, IA. The hours for this position are 6:30 AM - 3PM from Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions / Primiary Responsibilities - CDL Driving:
  • Maintain a valid Class A CDL license, DOT medical card, and adhere to all DOT regulations while driving a company class A vehicle.
  • Responsible for maintaining fuel levels of tractor(s) and trailers.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of all equipment to ensure safe and proper equipment operations.
  • Ensure proper signatures and processing of all company bills of lading, manifests, and any required documents.
  • Notify facility leadership of any repairs that need to be made to equipment.
  • Drop and hook trailers in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety standards.
  • Complete yard checks and assist leadership with on-site equipment management.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and HACCP support programs, inclusive of conformity to company, customer, and government standards.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.

Essential Functions / Primiary Responsibilities - Warehouse:
  • Performs operation and safety checks on equipment before use.
  • Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to assure prompt delivery of required items to proper destination, so that equipment does not shut down.
  • Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.
  • Completes cleaning duties at the end of designated shift.
  • Completes safety check on equipment prior to usage including but not limited to battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer.
  • Required to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts etc.
  • Employees shall follow all GMP & Food safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.
  • Must be able to meet production standards of quota required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
