Job description

Role: Field Interviewer
Training Dates: Training in NYC 9/9 -9/12
Training Mode: Online asynchronous and In-person
Production Dates: now through November 2026
Required Availability: available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
Payrate and Differentials: The base pay rate is $23.00 per hour. There is a $3 screening differential for cold calling/screening, making the rate for this project $26/hour.
Data Collection Mode: Face-to-face
Required Qualifications and Duties:
  • This project requires you to knock on doors and conduct interviews for the New York City Housing and Vacancy Survey. You must be prepared to explain the reason for your visit, quickly establishing rapport. In addition to doorstep screening, you will conduct interviews in study participants' homes. (cold calling)
  • Work a minimum of 25 hours per week, most of these hours will be worked on weekday evenings (4-8 pm), Saturday mornings and anytime on Sunday.
  • Work in 4 hour blocks of time (excluding travel time)
  • Attend weekly virtual team meetings, typically held on weekdays during business hours.
  • Attend all training sessions and successfully complete all certifications. All training time is paid.
  • Ability to traverse several blocks at a time, including ascending and descending stairs, and transporting study equipment and materials.
  • Be comfortable using a Windows based laptop
