FinishWorks is looking for a motivated and detail-focused Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will assist with product development by preparing customer samples, matching colors, creating laboratory formulations, and performing quality testing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to innovative coating solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory samples and production trial batches.
  • Perform color matching with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Enter and manage formulation data within company systems.
  • Conduct product performance and quality testing.
  • Assist with special projects and research activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in production tinting, color matching, or related laboratory work.
  • Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Preferred:
  • Experience in coatings, paints, chemicals, manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, handle materials, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with moderate solvent odors while following all safety guidelines.
