Job description

Job Summary:
Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join their national intelligence program, focusing on the engineering, application development, deployment, and operations of products and services.
Responsibilities:
• Develop test plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with product design and specifications.
• Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
• Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
• Provide test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
• Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
• Test all customer samples and conduct special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
• Consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
• Perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products.
• Develop testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
• Implement the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
• Produce reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
• Monitor for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.
• Participate within agile scrum development teams to gather and define requirements for a new user interface (UI)
• Define requirements and acceptance criteria for JIRA user stories and bug tickets
• Create and execute automated tests for front-end and back-end testing
• Communicate test case results with the Product Owner and developers, and work with them to resolve any discovered issues.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, Program Increment (PI) Planning, etc.
• Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, and performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
• Travel: Travel may be required within the National Capital Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a Poly clearance.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experience).
• Experience with black box testing.
• Agile or SAFe experience.
• Backend database testing experience (SQL)
• Experience creating user story and bug tickets, including development of acceptance criteria.
• Experience creating test cases from user story requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Good communication skills, especially with Product Owners and developers.
• Experience testing Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Automated testing experience.
Preferred:
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
• Automated testing experience: Jenkins, experience
• Ability to execute selenium automation test suites as needed
