Job description

Job Duties
  • Consistent with a DevOps and Agile delivery orientation, maintain a consistent, predictable, and easily understood deployment and testing environment.
  • Ensure processes shall align with and support an ITIL-based service validation and testing activity model.
  • Facilitate coordination between all of the SNCC Support Areas to ensure test environments are established for required testing.
  • Establish and maintain documentation on the processes and procedures used within the development and test environments, to include but not limited to service delivery approach, change management, configuration, and inventory.
  • Provide proactive mechanisms for collaboration, communication, and problem solving with the BPA Call SACOR and, as appropriate, the NRC Service Area Managers/Owners, System Owners, NRC vendors, and other Stakeholders.
  • Provide knowledge, expertise, and support during all project lifecycle management efforts performed by the Cross-Cutting Projects Support Area and other NRC vendors to ensure successful transition into the NRC Production environment.

Qualification (Degree, Years of Experience & Skills)
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years IT experience
    • 6+ years Dev/Test environment management
    • 4+ years DevOps/CI-CD oversight
    • Experience supporting Agile testing frameworks
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist
    • DevOps certification (Azure/AWS)
    • ISTQB (preferred)
    • ITIL v4 Foundation
  • Strong project management skills; experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal personnel, Contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives in a fast paced, high pressure and relatively complex technical environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels
  • High standards of respect for individuals, excellence, and service to the customer
  • The development and test environment lead should possess:
  • Ability to set up, monitor and maintain Development and Pre-Production environments to accurately mirror the Production environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to include the ability to coordinate activities between the NRC's Development, Pre-Production and Production environments.
  • Ability to support testers during the development of testing strategies and plans, test execution to include ensuring quality standards, as well as, analysis and reporting on test results.
  • Understanding of various testing types (functional, performance, security) and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in automation to include but not limited to design frameworks, scripting (Java, Python, etc.), and integration with CI/CD.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between the release and deployment team and other teams associated with workstation and server M&O.
