Job description

REAL TIME CONSULTING (An RTCo Company)—POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Advanced Test Engineer - Avionics Systems
ABOUT THE JOB:
We are looking for a skilled test engineer to design and develop rack and stack Automated Test Equipment (ATE) using Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) equipment, adapters, cable sets, test cases and test scripts to validate the functionality and performance of aerospace products / Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in test engineering or related role
  • Strong knowledge of test methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and working knowledge of general-purpose test equipment
  • Experience designing ATEs and executing test cases and test scripts
  • Experience designing and developing Level 1 (on aircraft) / Level 2 (LRU level) end item test equipment and integrating on the hardware to validate the functionality and performance of aerospace products
  • Experience executing tests and analyzing test results to identify defects and areas for improvement in aerospace products
  • Familiar with compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace products
  • Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and specifications for aerospace products
  • Experience with creating technical documents and developing Test requirements from System requirements along with experience in DO-178, DO-254, DO-160
  • Familiar with Python scripting for test
  • Familiar with C language programming
  • Familiar with LabWindows/CVI
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Accountable and takes ownership of assigned tasks
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative to get things done
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Experience testing products utilizing real-time operating systems (RTOS) as well as products with multithreaded environments
  • Experience in ClearCase/ClearQuest, DOORS, BITBUCKET
  • Experience providing recommendations for product enhancements and process improvements for aerospace products
