We are searching for a skilled and experienced Compressor Test Engineer to join our team. As a Test Engineer, you will be supporting the Plano Compressor Lab by executing test protocols on the compressor Calorimeter and Psychrometric Chamber, analyzing performance data, generating engineering reports, and assisting in our compressor lab, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and testing processes.
You will also be supporting customer field visits, providing technical support to our customers on our compressor products. This will include troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, writing test reports, and offering service as needed to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who has a passion for compressors, HVAC, is practical, hardworking, and energetic, and is willing to get his hands dirty.
This person is willing to get trained in HVAC, compressors, calorimeters, and HVAC system testing in the Psychrometric chamber using AHRI 210/240 & ASHRAE 37 test method.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Run/Supervise the compressor Calorimeter, Psychrometric room HVAC testing, and compressor teardown and reporting.
โ€ข Conduct on-site visits to assist customers with issues, installation procedures, advising on maintenance, and repairs of compressor equipment.
โ€ข Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate product information and technical specifications are provided to customers.
โ€ข Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing ongoing support and ensuring their needs are met.
โ€ข Collaborate with technicians to execute laboratory tests and experiments.
โ€ข Set up and maintain compressor test and gaging equipment, and ensure all components are functioning properly.
โ€ข Perform inspections, calibrations, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as needed.
โ€ข Collect and analyze data from tests and experiments, and make reports.
โ€ข Supervise and analyze teardown compressors and generate a failure report.
โ€ข Manage inventory of equipment and spare parts, and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
โ€ข Maintain lab protocols and procedures, and safety.
Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of HVAC, compressor systems, and components.
โ€ข Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairs of compressor equipment.
โ€ข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Customer-focused mindset and ability to build and maintain relationships.
โ€ข Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
โ€ข Willing to learn and get trained when core training is provided on HVAC and compressors.
