To thrive as a Test Engineer Manager, you need a solid background in software testing, quality assurance methodologies, and leadership experience, usually supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.

In Growth Product Experiences, we create amazing user experiences, blending our role as a top streaming service with exciting engineering challenges. We develop A/B tests and features for web, TV, and mobile platforms to introduce Netflix to more people, encourage sign-ups, and keep members engaged for the long haul.

Our team thrives on growth, proactivity, curiosity, and selflessness, embracing diversity, inclusion, and equity. If you're passionate about quality code and captivating UI that reaches global audiences, we'd love for you to apply.

What will you do in this role?

The Monetization Experiences Team is a Full-Stack team at the forefront of driving revenue growth and enhancing user experiences. By strategically collaborating with cross-functional partners in business, product, and technology, we deliver impactful solutions that seamlessly integrate across all platforms. Our team crafts and deploys innovative full-stack solutions, refining both new and existing plans and pricing strategies to adapt to market demands and user preferences, thereby maximizing revenue potential. As a member of this team, you'll create modular experiences that minimize client-side logic. Your work will enhance flexibility, increase experimentation speed, improve user experience, and directly contribute to our bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Senior UI Test Engineer who is passionate about product experiences and is focused on delivering high-quality code.

  • You work closely with cross-functional partners to communicate impact and understand business requirements

  • You will consult on test plans and test strategies for new product innovations.

  • You are self-motivated and high-performing, with a passion for both the business and the tech

  • You have a tester mindset, be curious and come up with interesting test scenarios

  • You will improve our automation test stability by building the test pyramid, restructuring unstable tests, and writing new tests.

  • You have deep expertise in software testing via automation, preferably with web or TV. Experience with native mobile based applications (iOS, Android) is a nice to have

  • You have excellent debugging skills in diagnosing issues in a multi-tier web architecture

We believe in creating opportunities beyond roles and across team lines, and the breadth of scope in the team is full of opportunities to explore and grow.

What Sets You Apart?

We value aptitude over experience, and here are some key points that will make you successful on our team:

  • Exceptional proficiency in the fundamentals of any programming language (although our interviews will be conducted in Javascript or Java)

  • Experienced with building all layers of the test pyramid and familiarity with common testing tools and frameworks

  • Capable of building deep context in a distributed architecture comprising many systems and services

  • Demonstrates proven leadership for managing and closing automation tickets

  • Incredibly selfless and willing to "Pick up the Trash," a metaphor for taking care of problems, small and large, and never thinking "that's someone else's job."

  • Exhibits exceptional grit and persistence when it comes to solving challenging technical problems

  • Displays a strong sense of independence, bias towards action, and inclination for collaboration

What's Different About Us?
  • Growth Product Experiences is a team that celebrates and values the business impact we have on Netflix, and not just the engineering contributions we make. If you have a strong product mindset that loves knowing how your work directly impacts our customer growth and revenue, this is the team for you.

  • We move fast and iterate quickly - we take ideas from concept to reality in a matter of weeks, not quarters. Expect a broader range of projects compared to other teams.

  • Inclusivity is something we embrace - diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and styles are something we're proud of. We value thoughtful engineers who lead with passion, resilience, a positive attitude, and a high degree of empathy. You can be your authentic self on this team, as we look for culture adds, not culture fits.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $266,000.00 - $442,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here.

Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.

Job is open for no less than 7 days and will be removed when the position is filled.
