Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Operator to join our Specialty Ingredients G.P Business at our Wilmington, DE. This position will report to Plant Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental procedures and guidelines

  • Receive materials into the limited access warehouse (LAW) per the appropriate procedures

  • Prepare for production, raw material, staging and weighing

  • Be able to perform all the manufacturing duties per the associated work instruction including set-up, operation and cleaning manufacturing equipment

  • Perform all necessary SAP transactions

  • Package final product & prepare shipments

  • Complete all GMP documentation

  • General housekeeping in the GMP production area

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Willing to work rotating shifts, holidays and overtime, as may be required; this is a rotating shift position

  • Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs on a regular basis

  • Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to clearly record observations in a written form

  • Ability to follow and complete written directions

  • Need to be able to work around strong magnets

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • GMP or Chemical Manufacturing experience

  • Fork lift experience

  • General Computer experience
