SAO Workday Security Administrator (767055)
Local Atlanta, GA
The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is statutorily responsible for statewide financial reporting. The SAO also provides enterprise oversight and management of the State's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, accounting policy development, financial business process improvement recommendations, and management of the payroll and accounting shared service centers.
Local candidates only as the selected candidate will be expected to be onsite 1-2 days a week.
Position Description:
A Workday Security Administrator is responsible for managing the HR and Financial applications by maintaining custom security groups, roles, domains, and policies within the Workday system. The key responsibilities include conducting audits to ensure security alignment, overseeing system activity, and collaborating with Business Analysts to implement security requirements for the State agencies while maintaining the segregation of duties.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implementing security to include user profiles, roles, domain/business process security, integration, and Reports security for all areas of Workday.
• Maintaining a security matrix and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards and State policies.
• Serve as the Lead Security Administrator for the Workday application, responsible for configuration, maintenance, integrations, and optimization.
• Responsible for being knowledgeable regarding the Workday roadmap and upcoming product releases, reviewing release notes, assessing new features, and understanding the impacts on business processes and basic changes in functionality as applicable to Workday security.
• Troubleshoot and assist users with security-related issues, and access problems, and guide security best practices.
• Implement and manage role-based access controls to ensure that users have the necessary access to complete the job duties.
• Manage and configure domain and business process security policies and workflow.
• Document security incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned to improve future response strategies.
• Review and update security roles based on changes in business requirements and regulatory standards updates.
• Assist in SSO/MFA secure authentication configuration and policies.
• Coordinate Workday quarterly updates, validations, workflows, process management, documentation, audits, and continuous improvements.
• Required to communicate to senior executives through oral and written reports and presentations
Skills and Competencies:
• Expertise in managing Business Processes and Domain Security Policies.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Workday Custom Security Groups (e.g., Role-Based, User-Based).
• Proficiency in Workday User Provisioning and De-Provisioning processes.
• Proficiency in Workday HCM and security modules with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve access and security issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Working Knowledge of Single-Sign-On/ Multi-Factor Authentication for the Application's secure authentication
• Knowledge of Tenant and Release management
• Ability to configure/security/reports migrations from one environment to another using Workday Object Transporter (OX 2.0).
• Knowledge of data privacy standards and compliance requirements for government industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information assurance, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of information technology experience, Four years of which in Workday security. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
