Job description

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing custom equipment such as specialized glovebox and hot cell systems, shielding designs, and remote handling equipment for the radiopharma and nuclear industry. The role involves various duties depending on the project phase, including design, modeling, calculations, and customer interaction. The Engineer will generate fabrication drawings from conceptual designs, support FEA/CFD, and apply GD&T principles. Familiarity with industry codes such as ANSI, ASME, and ASTM is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Design custom equipment for radiopharma and nuclear industry applications.
  • Generate fabrication drawings from conceptual designs.
  • Conduct hands-on calculations and modeling.
  • Interact with customers to understand project requirements.
  • Support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes such as ANSI, ASME, and ASTM.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in designing custom equipment.
  • 6+ years of experience with GD&T.
  • 6+ years of experience with sheet metal.
  • 6+ years of experience with FEA/CFD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in software such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, HVAC, and machine design.
Work Environment

The position initially offers remote work as the company coordinates leasing a new space. Once the lease is secured, a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days onsite per week will be required. There may be occasional travel to Mauston, where equipment fabrication occurs, based on project needs. Employees enjoy a supportive work environment with 3 weeks of PTO, 3 personal days, and 1 sick week, emphasizing work-life balance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
