Opportunity

Kohler is seeking a skilled Senior Compliance Engineer to join our Codes & Standards team with a dedicated focus on electrical product compliance. This role is ideal for an electrical engineer who drives understanding across new product development teams as they navigate how electrical safety, emissions, and efficiency impacts the design of Kohler products for sale in North America and globally. The right candidate will bring strong technical judgment, familiarity with North American electrical compliance expectations, and an ability to connect those requirements to global frameworks such as IEC and ISO. They will help guide our teams through the challenges of bringing safe, compliant, and innovative electrical products to market.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support product teams by understanding project goals and identifying electrical safety and compliance considerations early in development.
  • Coordinate electrical product certifications with third-party agencies, manage submissions and renewals, and ensure proper documentation and labeling for market access.
  • Provide technical direction during design reviews by advising on electrical architecture, insulation systems, creepage and clearance, component selection, and other safety-critical elements.
  • Evaluate regulatory impacts of design changes, new technologies, and emerging electrical features, escalating risks when necessary.
  • Learn and apply existing processes while helping identify improvements to make electrical certification more predictable and integrated across our development cycles.
  • Develop and deliver training and reference materials that strengthen the organization's understanding of electrical compliance requirements.
  • Stay current with changes in electrical safety standards and global compliance trends and communicate their potential impact to internal teams.
  • Interpret North American electrical safety standards (UL/CSA) and understand how they relate to, align with, or differ from IEC and other international standards.
  • Contribute to broader Codes & Standards initiatives, including standards development, regulatory monitoring, and documentation improvements.
